2nd Annual CBI Training Program Retreat

Over 70 graduate students and faculty members from the Stanford chemical biology community attended the Second Annual ChEM-H Chemistry/Biology Interface Training Program Retreat.

The Second Annual ChEM-H Chemistry/Biology Interface Training Program Retreat took place on June 25, 2018 at Quadrus Conference Center in Menlo Park, CA. Over 70 graduate students and faculty members from the Stanford chemical biology community attended. In addition, six undergraduate guests from Bay Area universities interested in Stanford PhD programs were in attendance. The undergraduate guests were hosted by current CBI trainees and had the opportunity to learn more about Stanford and the CBI Program. CBI students gave talks, presented posters, and chaired sessions.

The event also included a keynote lecture by Jennifer Doudna, Professor of Chemistry and Molecular & Cell Biology at UC Berkeley and HHMI Investigator. Prof. Doudna gave a talk on “Editing the Code of Life: The Future of CRISPR Technology”. The retreat concluded with a networking reception for the attendees and the presentation of Best Poster Award and Best Talk Award.
