CBI Students Connect with Young Scientists at Bio-X Science Day

CBI students Kiara Cui and Joseph Park represented ChEM-H at the Bio-X Science Day on June 15th. The student volunteers led an activity on polymers in food science and medicine for the elementary and middle school-aged attendees. Using a polymer found in algae and fruit juice, Kiara and Joseph helped students make polymer spheres and noodles. The activity introduced the young scientists to polymer chemistry in biological processes such as blood clotting and medical applications including drug delivery.
