Two new ChEM-H institute scholars have joined the CBI Program as faculty mentors.

Jonathan Long, Assistant Professor of Pathology, arrived at Stanford in January 2018. The Long lab seeks to discover new bioactive metabolite signaling pathways that control mammalian metabolism and physiology. Their unique and multidisciplinary approach combines synthetic chemistry, biochemistry, mass spectrometry, and genetics to chart functionally relevant regions of unannotated biochemical space.

Laura Dassama, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, will arrive at Stanford in September 2018. The Dassama lab will focus on aspects of bacterial multidrug resistance mitigation, with interest areas that include elucidating the biosynthetic and transport mechanisms of biologically active natural products.
