Amita Gupta

Amita is interested in the interface of engineering and human health and completed degrees in both chemical engineering and biology at MIT. There, she conducted research in the Prather Laboratory focused on improving glucaric acid production in yeast through optimizing both enzyme activity and expression levels and also bioprocess parameters. Outside of the lab, she has sought out opportunities to better understand how innovation is taken from bench-side to bedside through internships at both biotech as well as healthcare investment companies. She plans to explore a variety of research interests in natural product biosynthesis, systems biology and infectious diseases while at Stanford.
